Gilson Cabin

The metal wainscot is a response to the harsh weathering conditions caused by snow standing against the building for four to six months each year. The cabin is with its surroundings, reflecting the strength and directness of the local materials and terrains.  At 1,740 square feet, the cabin can comfortably accommodate two couples plus kids. It is rustic and somewhat sparse; informal and voids excess convenience.  The kitchen and dining room orient toward Carson Peak and a private patio, while the living room orients to a group of peaks on which the sun sets during the summer. The master bedroom overlooks the living room and shares the view of Carson Peak.
